its a toyota celica gt one i think he was recalling?
its a toyota celica gt one i think he was recalling?
A small mod i did yesterday.
now the coils fits with std VW loom underneeth cover:
and as you might have guessed, I´m installing the loom as we speak.
The loom is taken from the same VW as the coils.
just stripped it and it fits almost perfectly with some rerouting.
and a little bonus.. it´s 'silver' wires is the loom.
will make a very nice and light loom.

Thougt id write up a full engine spec for you guys now when it´s defenitive.
X22XE block and crankshaft.
strengthened with 'concrete' and 'girdlescrews' at the top of the block
Bored to 87.00mm
small mods done to oilsystem to increase flow.
Headstuds modified to M12 thread with helicoil inserts.
95.4mm stroke
87mm woessners with full skirt.
10.5-1 compressionratio
148mm Arrowrods with special bearings to block off 'oilsquirt' to make more ridgid oilfilm
Girdle for the mainbearings made in 10mm steel
Special windagetray
Uprated oilpump for more flow and with steelgears and nylonvalve.
Lightened flywheel with 200mm Sachs twinplate clutch speced for 960Nm
Fully balanced with special triggerdisc on pulley.
The head is equipped with this spec:
34.5mm inlet valves Flows 308 cfm at 28" and 13mm lift
31mm outlet valves Flows 28x cfm at 28" and 13mm lift
272 camshafts with extreme acceleration on the 'ramps' to make as much open valves as possible during 272 degrees.
Double valvesprings
Sbdev chromemolly retainers
Bronze guides
Special inletmanifold
Special outletmanifold
Special camsprockets
Engine management:
DTA S60pro
4 coils

that is absolutly gorgeous mate
Why the vw bits? Is that just so you can run the 4coilpacks that sit on the plugs?
I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.
wow thats some spec, a real piece of engineering!
what's the estimated power goin up to with the new manifold?
and YEAH!!!... photobucket seems to have problems with my folder.
seems that i have maxed out the freebie abonnemang![]()
something like this
and now a close pic of one of the welds on the exhaustmanifold:
A little lesson:
its VERY important to NOT having any 'ditches' besides the weld.
this will attract cracks to build up in them.
It´s not matter if it will happen it´s matter of when.
Mine welds maybe aren´t the most beatuiful welding in the world.
but i have no 'ditches'
i maybe dunno the word for 'ditch'
It is the thing that runs besides a countryroad and it flows water in them.
Rgds
looking awesome as ever!
you just about have 'ditch' right tbh, not really a better word to describe what you are describing that i can think of, welds look ace! do you purge the inside of the tube with gas while you weld too to help smooth the inner welds?

Now long now mate![]()
Gonna be some very interesting rsults form this i think. The compression being so high is gonna make drive really nice off boost then go absolutly ballistic once on boost.
10.5:1 is scary high though, too high for my liking...even on ethanol![]()
Think Mark Shead is still the record holder for the 35r,was on an evo, 736hp sounds familiar![]()

ditches, we call it under cut over here

Yes it´s quite scary as one of the first in Sweden to go that high in compression.
But we have a couple of dragracing hayabusas in sweden and they run totally mental with high compression and E85 fuel.
That is interesting enough to test it myself
Mark Shead and this evo?
Where to read more of him and the car?

PAtrick
Well..
I might be misinformed.
but isn´t that coilpack on later astras 'wastefire' setup?
and as i got an highcompression engine i need all the juice i can get to every certain cylinder.
Wastefire has a problem in high pressures. the coil ignites two cylinders and one of them ignites an 'empty' cylinder with 'no pressure'
that means the spark has less resistance to fire the 'wrong' cylinder.

stunning
The cake is a lie :(
how big are them boost pipes?
looks very smart tho![]()

Realy is a stunning build!, it all looks awsome!

that purple connecter bit that joins the air filter to the intake pipe, where can you get these from becuz ive been searching every where but cant seam to find them anywhere???
He probably made it out of a yogurt pot![]()
