Question astra engine transplant wisdom required

hi,
im the owner of a beasty slugish 3dr 1.6 8v mk3 astra and im very intrested in putting the C20LE 2.0 redtop engine in. I know i need the engine, f20 box, loom and ecu. All seem quite straight forward but wasnt sure of any hidden difficulties and cannot seem to find any info on the net. for example are the driveshafts the same or different lengths? Does the loom differ alot or is it basically the same? Are the mounts the same?

If any1's done this conversion or similar id like 2 hear from u. If not, il just give it a drash and will be on the forum bleeting about the problems.

Cheers
james

use the shafts frfom the car you get the engine and gear box from,
loom you'll be using the one from the engine so that dont matter...
and mounts need to match the engine....
and welcome,

Try a v6 they are still quite easy to do and often come a LOT cheaper than the 2.0 xe
ecotec and none ecotec are (i believe) the same engine unlike the redtop
167 bhp (ish) std

will i then not be looking at other issues?... like suspension upgrades. i was hoping just gettin away with rear disc conversion. good idea tho theres quite alot in my area... maybe i can swap... they wont notice there is still a huge temptation with redtop. so what driveshafts do u use with V6?the cavy ones? mounts the same?

i mite even just get a 'sport' for donor car, will save changing dials, rear brakes and will have s****y colour coded bumpers... rather than crappy black/grey bumpers.

inspired

cheers
