Do some google searches for the type of thing your looking for print some images up and put em up in your roon or garage.

Apart from that ypur pasion should be enough to get started and crack on..

Some days you wake up and can't be bothered....other days you wake up ready for anything...

Do you have an idea of what you want to do with it?

Bad time of the year for motivation too cold and the days are too short to be bothered getting the tools out .Leave it be until we get the lighter nights back again in march

    I agree with mark4x4,

Spend thewinter planning, collecting parts and finding as mutch info on what your gona do.

Could set out a "realistic" scedule to help you keep on track once you do start.........

    Good luck dude.

browse through other people's project logs, watch car videos on youtube, thats what motivated me ...

if you cant go out and do work on it cos of the weather or lack of light or whatever, then plan instead - do all the groundwork, make lists, budget plan everything, phone around companies and chat to peeps, learn from others mistakes - alot of the time what brought me down is not 'knowing' enough around the subject - that kinda intimidates and brings morale down ..

pull your finger out lad !

all your opinions are kinda right,i bought it back in june with a view to a dencent project,i put some white dials in it and a white dial analog clock, bought some import vented wings and bonnet of which most of it sits in the back of the motor but i think it all started when i started getting problems with the engine ie a little bit of smoke..that made me lose heart straight away because before any tuning i had a repair of some kind coming up,then 2 weeks later i go to the expansion chamber and its full of oil and i have no heating,at 1st i think this is headgasket but now many peopl have looked at it or have heard the symtoms and said that it could be oil cooler so yet another repair so as you see before any "SHOW" goes on the car ive gotta put the "GO" right so the costs are already mounting up,ive nearly sold it god knows how many times but then chicken out...i really dunno what to do with it,i know what i had in mind for it but for everything i do right with the car something goes wrong...HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get the high octane DVD series, and watch all the crazy cars tearing up the strip... does it for me every time!

I literally then run out of the house making dump valve/wheelspin noises and start work on the car lmao

i find while in work im really motivated to go home and get stuck in, but this time of year you get home and its dark and cold.... and just such effort to go out to the garage.

but i find once im out there its fine and can easily work from 4-10 without really noticing....

altho havent done anything for about 3 weeks

This time of year really does the motivation no favours though.

I just cant be arsed to look at my car, its too cold & wet & besides I havent got a clue what to do next.

If you really must do something though. Start to write a jobs list. rearrange into an order that you can realistically tackle things one by one. Put it in order of which needs doing before another job can be started, cost of parts (having to save) etc..

tackle it bit by bit & work through.

I like your taste in styling ,...like said do a list get the body sorted out first it no good spending a couple of grand on a 200 bhp engine and the car is like a rusty bucket (there's a few about!!) with no chance of an mot .There is some smart rebuilds on here and are a credit to the owners and if you get stuck there loads of help availible (check out the how too's) and at the end of the day its all your own work .

    As an example:
Just tonight I was driving home through the tunnel from work behind a c200 merc in my £200 cav (+ the extra 600 moddin' it) and the passenger in the car in the next lane nearly broke his neck as he went passed, not looking at the merc, looking at me in me little cav .Thats the pleasure you get from all the blood sweat and tears you've given in turning a pretty mundane car something to admire.

Good luck and keep us all posted (pics)

I have no choice but to work over the winter on mine, as my motivation is using it on track, and for me thats plenty. Regardless of how cold it is or how ill I am, ill be out there because I wont be able to face going to Combe in April watching all the other buggers having fun!

And I live in Newbury and my unit is in Bristol, so i have an hours drive before i even start working on it, so consider yourself lucky!! lol

    LOL.

Get a dark dusty lock up, ideally near a disused docks.

Write your list on the wall in UV pen.

Then use a 'black light' bulb to see your list.

Name your car after a temperamental ex girlfriend.
