    Goodbye old hello new

Got the new shell home today, starting to fit EPAS in column bracket and need to cut dash as the cage on this one goes behind.

Once the dash and epas are sorted need to prep shell for paint and general tidy up.

Then got my mate to sort wiring then refurb and refit all my bits all going well i hope to have it ready in 5-6 weeks then painted in new Pirtek colours.

    I will keep you posted.

new shell looks good, gonna join cage to turrets?

also i dont envy the new owner of your old shell, having to remove all that wrap

Old shell gone to scrap yard Kenny, the new one will be in the new colours to be revealed later

Been on cutting the dash and modifying bracket for EPAS which is pretty easy just a bit welding and cutting, the rest bolts together.

Also moving oil pressure gauge and speedo into middle air vent holes as i only need the heaters on the screen.

As for welding anymore cage in defnitley not as it weighs a ton compared to the old one and its pretty substantial as it is.

Tomorrows jobs will be to finish off dash then start prepping shell couple of plates required and fill a few holes i wont need then get painted underside and inside ready to start bolting bits on

It will be better and a stronger car with full multi point cage but that also means more weight

Kev can you not just use the later spec column bracket (from a original epas corsa) instead of modding the original one..

Kenny its my digi speedo as the original doesnt work with the tran x diff

Rob i didnt take the unit out but was told there was not a seperate mount, there is a tube runs from one end to the other and it mounts to that. Not a big deal anyway and its done now just need to start welding the shell up get some paint on it.

Very nice new shell, out of interest can you tell me where you found the shell advertised? Looks like a nice spec of shell to build the car from.

Rick it belonged to a mate of mine who wants to build another ultra lightweight for the 1400 class. He uses a Bill Faulkner motor revs to 9100 and has around 195@ flywheel.
The shell i got is a bit on the heavy side but im not bothered at the min will se how it performs then if i am not on the pace will look to get a bit out, polycarb and lighten the doors.

Doesnt look like much work but new seat rails and cage welds re done as i was not happy with some of them. All inside painted and starting to get all the bits ready to go back on.
Will have wires removed and new loom done at weekend so hope to have it ready next two weeks.

    Hows your build going Kenny?

looks nice with a fresh lick of paint! do you use a modified standard loom or a bespoke one?

my build is getting on better than expected, flocked my dash the other day, all bodywork done jsut waiting on my paint arriving. also trying to source a bolt in cage as i cant start bolting it back together till thats in and any all associated welding done.
