Big balls or a bit daft but you learn from mistakes and i wont be doing that again :-)
Darren Underwood snapped a shaft on the last stage so we would have picked up 2nd but rallying is all about if's and but's :-)
Fitted a front engine stay as the back mount is getting some grief with the paddle shift.

Looking good Kev
If I ain't earning it - I'm spending it!!
Corsa C rear stubs, discs and bearings fitted re using my Golf Calipers.
The front has had new uprights, flanges machined for group A studs this should strengthen the setup.

NASCAR use a 5/8" UNF stud - that should take care of any worries - cars have been known to make it back to the pit on only one nut...
ARP NASCAR Speed Studs - SummitRacing.com
Possible overkill?
As an aside, may pay to throw a spare set of nuts in with the wheel brace, just in case some more nuts go missing...
That's part of the plan keep some studs and nuts in the car but hopefully that's it sorted
whos studs are they kev? look different to my group A studs. mine came from protec.
Bespoke made by F&R Belibin good mate of mine thank god mind you he has told me I owe him sexual favours which is a worry :-)
CArs all sorted ready for the Manx just have to wait until the 10th for the ferry.
On another point my old clubman engine that Bill Falconer built for me was sold with 208bhp at 7800rpm 155lb ft torque on TBs, lad that bought it has put it into a MK2 Escort on carbs just had it rolling roaded acheived 192bhp at 7500rpm one very happy customer. Bills motors does what it says on the tin! If your looking for a motor have a look at his clubman kits worth every penny and if you know how to put an engine together you will save a few quid.
love the engine stay good idea![]()
First time on Manx so will be taking it easy ish :-)
Tough IOM for us sheared the outer F20 joint on the first stage, got it replaced to get some miles in on the Saturday, Little london stage was the best by far.

Cars all sorted ready for The Jim Clark National, Duns on Friday night should be good for spectators all cars doing two runs.
Are you doing the Reivers on the Sunday? I'm in 2 minds whether to pop down tomorrow, a bit gutted that Bothwell and Abbey St Bathans isn't being run, at night they were epic!
No I'm doing the national , Duns should be good to see all the cars twice
Ah, wasn't sure if you'd be doing both. I'm a bit worried that the Duns Marshal Mafia will be trying to make seeing the cars as hard as possible! Especially with the recent happenings in Ireland. Last time I went to Duns it was cancelled after 10 cars went through.
Last stage on our way to 25th overall and 2nd in class after a pretty difficult event but it all turned out well.

Looks like you were enjoying yourself
What happened to the flappy paddle - looks like you've had to resort back to the stick ?
Dave
Hi Dave the paddle display went off so used manual, when i was washing the car yesterday found that the poteniometer was loose and not connected to the drive :-(
Im looking to change the setup so the gearstick is operated by the paddle as well so its easier to get panic changes :-)
Small update on mine gutted to say the paddle shift has been removed :-( really liked having the system on the car but had a couple of problems which led to me using the stick. Having used the stick i found i could drive harder on the brakes so that was the decision made.
Ive got 3 rallies planned Lindisfarne on Otterburn 16th Sept, Pendragon on Warcop Ranges 23rd Sept then the last round of the REIS Championship on Otterburn November 4th. If we complete that lot with no major problems then the engine is coming out for a rebuild and some Bill Falconer extra's :-)
So im thinking of stripping the car of weight and having a pro loom made for it but this will depend on a few things like me being arsed to do it :-)
Thats a shame about the paddle not working as you had hoped Kev. Still good to see you are determined to get back out there! Paul
Great result today Kev - 9th overall. Well done, you must be well chuffed!![]()
Great event, tried hard to push myslef and the car harder, using Dunlop X22's all round made a big difference just need to find a little bit more but its going in the right direction.
