Hi mate,
Anychance you could send me a photo of how your Kevlar arch liners fit and are fitted?
Reason i asked is just got mine from ProTech and they really are a bad fit, dont sit flush etc

Beardy they are a ****e fit i cut mine for the original car then when i built the kit spec one it made them a tiny bit to small.
Will see if i have any pics and put them up.
Thought i would post these up from Total Vauxhall feature.

Is that this months mag Kev? Loos like a great feature - good for your sponsors![]()
Last months i think and very good for sponsors if they had any money but it all goes on BTCC
Mind you Pirtek Tyne & Wear help me out so its not all bad![]()
Made this bracket up to park the gearstick, when the paddle is sorted we dont want the whole gearstick moving as it will decrease the gearchange speed and maybe need a bigger cylinder, then made a plate with an oil impregnated bush to keep the rod central in the bulkhead.
So thats all the brackets done just waiting on the wiring loom and mapping next week fingers crossed.

Are you using solid engine and gearbox mounts? If you don't, engine/gearbox movement may cause severe binding issues with the shaft in the bushing.
maybe you should read the rest of the thread, realise this is a serious competition car and that of course its got near solid engine mounts

The mounts are Hockly competition mounts pretty much solid, when we have the car ready to go i will be trying the manual shift just to make sure its ok but hopefully i never need it.
I might change it for a spherical bearing if required.
Hows the loom coming along then Kev? Are you still on target for Epynt?
Well im getting a little frustrated but hope to have it running this weekend with the paddle setup, worst case scenario is we go to Epynt without the paddle working.
This loom better be good the amount of time its taking :-)
So will you have a button on your steering wheel to push to let it get into neutral and reverse then Kev? Rather than using the lever in the gear stick?
Yeah we have a button on the paddle lever to engage reverse, the reverse cable is removed from the box and geartronics controls it, but ive left the cable on the car so if i have to we can go back to manual.
Thought we had it ready to go yesterday but theres a little problem with the GCU and Omex not cutting the engine, nearly there :-)
great work on this![]()
Carbon paddle on order :-)
Looking good Kev! You cant beat a bit of carbon! Have you got your loom yet?
All fitted just need to change the auxilary input so i should be fully flapping tomorrow :-)
Looking well Kev, Are you taking it out on the private test track?
Rob
If I ain't earning it - I'm spending it!!
Hi Rob had my first drive today and its a fooking hoot to drive upshifts are so much smoother and faster but the downshift and breaking is something else. Got a few bits to tidy up and finish off then i will get some incar up :-)
Over the last few years this car has developed and transformed but without doubt the three biggest steps were (in order)
Bill Falconer engine transformed the power and delivery
Sadev sequential made the car very enjoyable to drive and our times on stage dropped
Paddle Shift with Playskool Motorsport Ltd Nick and Luke Algar did a cracking job getting the system together using Geartronics kit and plenty knowhow.
Cant wait to get on some stages i know in June on The Jim Clark but we will have to go to Epynt and Isle of Man beofre that so it should be interesting.
cant wait for the vids mate
