Just ordered my XE some parts, a lovely set of ARP rod bolts and flywheel bolts
Has anyone used Auto vaux's H/G set???

So todays progress...
I started on the rear arches, basically what I did was cut lines down the arch from the lip to the inside, then used a heat gun to heat the paint up. I then bent the lip upwards which gave me plenty of clearance for the 195/50R15 (that apparently will rub???).
Whilst heating the rear arch I got the bumper a bit... To my hapiness I noticed this happens when you heat it up a lil... Looks like new![]()
I then fitted my sunstrip.. I can do most things, but get me to put a sunstrip on by myself and you get bubbles. It wasn't the best strip TBH as the way it was packed it had wrinkles bent into it, it will do for now though as there are no sun visors on the car![]()
So with the seats/harnesses in, the brakes bled, the rear aches rolled and it all ready to go it was rude not to take it for a spin...
It's fun and handles awesomly! Suspension is ROCK hard (on hardest setting) There is no rubbing at all from the rear. The front rubs slightly on full lock (not a problem). Before it used to wheel spin in first and second like nothing, now it hardly spins and thus feels 100% quicker than before! Turn in round corners is great even though the tracking isn't done yet. I've so far clocked about 11 miles in it, and so far I'm most impressedCan't wait till the Valver is built and in

When I went from XE to LET the only other thing I changed was to coilovers making it lower and harder. Now naturally you would expect the LET to wheelspin as much if not more than the XE but it hardly spins up at all! I'm assuming its down to the harder suspension settings. Maybe same in your case?
Simps.
liking the bumper trick![]()
good progress too![]()
Good stuff, the bumper looks well where you've had the heat gun on it.
Someone told me heat my old bumpers up to turn them back to new, never actually tried it tho.
Just went for a drive, and it handles really well. Also met a Porsche Boxster S... Now I thought these cars although not lightning quick were still 'out of the novas' league.. In S form according to some quick research a 2001 Boxster S stats are:
0-60 MPH 5.5 seconds
1/4 (E.T.) 14.0 seconds @ 99.5 mph
Top-speed 161 mph
From off the lights (him in front me behind) he gave it some, I gave it some and although he WAS pulling away slightly upto 70-80 I was still well in his rear view mirror!!?? There is no way the nova feels like it would do a 0-60 in 6 seconds. A mate of mine came out in it today, he has a valver corsa (Doge5644) and he says i'm there or there abouts with him.... The porsche was trying as he gave it a few times, from when I was plastered to his arse. Me and the missis could smell cat, and hear his flat 6 too. Oh it was a convertable too... although iirc they all are?
If this is right, it goes to show you traction is the key to a quicker car!!! I am getting minimal wheelspin, with a slight screech when pulling away hard!?
Well chuffed![]()
