Actually just decided i'm gonna get the angle grinder to start cutting annoying metal! Vx must of made these cars for 4/5 peoplethey have rear seat mounts!!!!

lol, gotta love removeing paint, you using a wire wheel? make sure you make some nice spreader plates for that cage matejust prdered my rose joints for my tie bars, so should ne able to start making them next week

Sweet matey! i've used washers atm Would making a plate out of 2mm or 3mm be better? Is there much point welding it!? While writting this my shocks turned up![]()
This is gonna sound ghey, how do you remove the seat mounts WITHOUT creating holes? I don't want to drill the spot welds and leave holes! Do you just cut it till it's somewhat flush?

cut them flush or get a spot weld drill, has a flat bottom and a pin to guide it so it will only go through one skinpain in the arse doing spotwelds though, so some of my brackets are fully off, some cut flushlmao
as for the cage, i would bolt it in on the legs, but tag it to the shell on the a and b pillars, but you can even make these points bolt in if you use the original seatbelt mounts on the b pillar and make a captive nut setup in the a pillar
the spreader plates need to be 2mm minimum, and be a lot bigger than the rear arch feet and front cage legs, the ones on the sill need a foot making that links to the sill and the floor, kinda stepped if you see what i mean, also do yourself a favour and weld the nuts on the back of plates for the roll hoop feet and on the inner plate for the rear arch you normally get with the cage, makes your life alot easier!

The sexiness arrived! Word of WARNING to all, if you want coilovers all round you need the kit pt number that ends in 'E' and not 'D'. I have the 'd' one and therefore have to send back the rears and get the ones I want! First looks and I have the say they look awesome!I've had Leda coilovers on the mk3 and mk2 leda shocks yet these LOOK better quality. Of course once fitted its where it matters!
My eccentric top mounts look sexy too... only prob with them is when you pick them up there so lightA very good kit also. Will be fitting the bearing tomorrow, and will prob start the fitting of the front stuff
also mark out approx where the rear turrets will go!

How much were they?
Well the kit (GHA310D) on raldes is 405 plus the vat... turns out thats for the fronts with normal rear set up... for an extra £40-50 (iirc) you can get the full coilover kit (GHA310E). I will have alot of pics, tomorrow may start putting them on, or continue with the boring paint removal... any bets what I do tomorrow.... lmao

my old ones were bloody hard even on soft setting but the car did handle superb with them on!
