Are replacements cheap or will you only have the 4 to play with at the nice price?
I'm going to go for medium compound AO48R's purely because I know they are a stock tyre so can be replaced no problem & proven to perform on a light car like the nova.
I've made my mistakes buying cheap remould types (Indysport - TR's) & then (too hard) Yokohama slicks, both were a waste of time & I should have just bitten the bullet & bought the right tyres for the car in the first place.
Good to see you have another option available to you, hope it works out well.

| Re: Nova 1.0 build (Trackday car) I've just picked up a set of A048r's in soft compound part worn to have a try with. Never done a trackday with a performance tyre so looking forward to seeing the difference.
Will it matter that much if I go for a good standard road tyre on the back? |

| Re: Nova 1.0 build (Trackday car) it may well make the balance of the car a little wayward, but tbh the rear wheels are mainly there to stop the bumper hitting the floor so you'll be ok |

| Re: Nova 1.0 build (Trackday car) Well he 55 profile, make the overall diameter 17mm more. I really need to go up around 20mm on my suspension anyway (To make the lower arms sit flat) If I can't get these on the car, i'll just sell them on, i'm sure to get my money back |

| Re: Nova 1.0 build (Trackday car) Well todays extra HOT work. I've had to retire now due to heat. Although I did start at 9
Todays mission: Fit following parts:
400 lb rear springs,
275 lb Front springs,
Oil pressure sender and gauge,
Oil temp sender and guage,
Rubber mount Facet,
Seperate switch for facet,
Fit SBD type C manifold.
Well to start of on a bad, I didn't fit the type C, going to do it when I can get the rest of the system made too.
New 7" 400lb spring compared to the std 9" 190lb I had in there. The shorter spring has meant the same ride height is possible with the spring sitting higher. (clearing, I hope my 55 profile tyres)
Sitting in the arch happy, when I let the car down it doesn't dip at all, even with the shocks on soft!!
Front springs, Blue are the new 275lb, 8", black are the 250lb 9".
To some peoples disapointment, I have also raised the vehicles front ride height.
This is how it sits now,
because it means I get...
Then onto the gauges...
First to fit the temp sender and oil pressure sensor...
I mounted them here,
Anyone clarify where these go..
Rear mount, Engine mount, Gearbox mount.
Will get on tomorrow and do the mounts and the other things i've got to do. |

| Re: Nova 1.0 build (Trackday car) Hmm, I'll let you know how I get on then LOL Haven't even unwrapped mine from the bubble wrap it came in If the fan touches the manifold I'm going to tuck the rad under the slam panel and mount the top with er, cable ties
I'm not wrapping mine; aside from the cost, and effort of wrapping it - I drive the car on too many 'country' roads for it to last long without bottoming out. |

Rear mount, solid drivers side mount. Fr gearbox mount.
Ride height still looks purposefull IMO. Too low encourages bump steer anyway.

Cheers Craig, I thought that was the case.
Yeah rise height still sits well, tyres just don't sit in the arches anymore. Means the lower arms are flat, also as you say bump steer. |
