| Re: Nova 1.0 build (Trackday car) Ok todays work!
Decided to look at the fuel system, gear linkage and basically went a bit over the top.
This made me realise how much I hate spot welds...
Trial fitting of shifter, the amount of in and out this thing did would seriously have cost alot if the nova was a hooker!
Primed and painted, then decided I might as well do under the seats again too
The start of Fuel system. Going try it like this first, May have to rubber mount the Facet if it gets too annoying. Used cotton braided hose as temp measure, the hose I ordered from a company turned out that when I asked for x mm I/D he chose to send me X mm O/D...
Didn't get many pictures as I was working flatout. Tomorrow I got to finish the fuel system and bolt everything back in. Hopefully I can do a quick service on the engine, put in n/a plugs. Got a trackday on Thursday so fingers crossed it's all ready! |

| Re: Nova 1.0 build (Trackday car) Rubber mount the facet for sure, personally I'd have it under the car near the filler pipe too as its fecking noisy.
One thing I do find very odd, why go to the expense of fitting a swirl pot with -6 fittings then use hose clips on the facet ? either do the lot or don't bother imo as you could of saved yourself a fecking fortune on fittings.
Stick the facet under the car, then you cant see that its not quipped, atleast everything inside the car will be so it wont look odd.
Don't forget the grommets whilst your going through panels, that or use bulkhead fittings if your feeling flush

Does anyone know where I can get the 'cotton reels' from? Aren't they like mini fuel pump mount or something? |

| Re: Nova 1.0 build (Trackday car) Decided to mount my regulator here. I was going to mount it inside so I could use the gauge to keep an eye on fuel pressure. Lee made me think what could happen.
Rear fuel system complete. Just need to change hose for other hose. Remount Facet too, rubber needed. All hose is grommited and P clipped securely.
I also changed the oil and did a lil service. Ready for thursday trackday, while I was under there I thought I would take another pic of the gorgeous meaningful tie bars
Then I gave it a clean to get all the crappy road salt off it!
Still love the castor on the front wheel
Didn't take a pic, but my exhaust clamp from the manifold to center system broke, that'll be the speed bump
Tomorrow:
Tracking
Rubber mount Facet
General tighten up of all bolts
Hope springs turn up and fit them all up.
Hope Roll cage strengtheners turn up and fit them. |
