cripes.. quite extreme work for the seating position! - though i agree its pretty vital to sit 'right'/ how you want it..
I spent a good few weeks messing with subframes to get it so i was happy.. luckily didnt need to cut the floor though :-)

the floor pan was like a mountain range though, so to get the seats as low as poss, which is where they need to be, this was the best solution, and also has to comply with msa regs for the seat mounts so needs to have 40mm square spreader plates above and below the floor pan, so its a bit of a ball ache, but will be a massive improvement when done, i cant abide the feeling of sitting too high in anything you want to drive quickly, even cut the focus about to lower the seat

The new position feels so much better than the old, but then the Revolutions and the old Magnum's are hardly comparable, the Revolution's a lovely seat!
Some more photo's:
Drivers side is complete, just got to do the passenger side pan and weld it in.
Then, there's a little bit of welding to do underneath to re-attach the chassis leg and what-not, but that's not going to be too difficult.
You would think that this would have all been done whilst the car was a shell and on a spit! lmao Apparently not!
Seats will be in by next weekend though, so a bit of paint and some final checks will be the order of the day next weekend before Brands! Yay!

looking good mate, theres some etch primer up there still, one down huh...

I dare any of you to tell me you wouldn't let this upstanding young citizen slob on your knob like corn on the cob.
Looking good BrianCant wait to see this go at Brands!
Hey dude, cheers. I can't wait until Brands either, it's going to be a great day! Looking forward to being able to give it some beans from the comfort of a nice new seat! Thanks for you help sorting them out!![]()
Brian Sidebotham.
top seat fabricationi love those seats, been waiting for a second hand set to come up in my price range for ages

Never driven a Transit fast then?
I think I'm used to sitting high.
'power makes you faster down the straights, lightness makes you faster everywhere' mr c chapman.
you see, whilst you might be high up in a transit, you are still low compared to the wheel and dash, and thats more what i meant i think, the old RWD trannies used to fun, lock the rear wheels into a roundabout by shoving it into first, then snatch second and get on with it, lmao
yeah they came out great mate, cheers for filming! and tathan thought i was brave filming you lmao
and ya, roll on brands hatch, going to be ****ing mega!

righty, so had another mapping drama the other night, poxy inlet manifold gasket decided to fail, did try to silicon it while i was there but no joy, so fixed that yesterday…
poxy thing, still, leak free now, but the map isn't fully optimised, not far off though, so time to get ready for brands on tuesday!
first did some geometry work, string boxed the car to get it pretty good…
will get it on some gauges soon….
then, looked in awe at brians new seats, that look bloody ace!
as does his dash…
doesn't work yet but it will soon!
then we flatted and polished the manta before its first outing, looks marvellous!
then brian took it for a little drive, and all is well, sounds like a porsche at distance! lmao
then i cleaned the nova and took more pics!
roll on tuesday!![]()
