sorryshould have not braked and hit the car infront
lmao
Just let the people in the office know about that excuss its the first we have heard that one (i work in a motor claims dept)
lol, well esure will be hearing it soon i guess
Simply amazing, great project you have got going here and great progress you have made. Doing all the work you self as well, well done!
Looks like your a pretty handy with welding and... cutting things up :P
right, time for the bit i hate, wiring!lmao
first things first, wired two resistors into the dash sensor loom
this corrects the input voltage for the oil pressure and fuel level sensors
then it was time to dig out my spare loom(from a cavalier, christ its heavy!!) to use as wire
supply for the loom, mmm messy
then i did all the wiring i could to the main board out of the car, like linking the relay earths etc
mounted it
marked all the switching wires up and wired it all in, does this via a switch now rather than twisted wire! and it doesnt set itself on fire or anything!![]()
then it was just connecting stuff up, left it like this, need to tidy it all up yet, so will do that
tommorow and then programme the dash up so it all works how i want
nearly there now!![]()
ooooo lights and everything...cool
I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.
lol, engine works on the switches now too![]()
Thats one sexy dash!!![]()

Lewis Hamilton - Vodafone McLaren Mercedes - 2008 FIA Formula One World Champion
1.6 16v Nova. Something newer!!
hopefully it'll be a bit sexier tommorow when i programme it up, will say things like oil p instead of channel 1 etc![]()
lmao
Looking goodThats alot of wires....
![]()
cheers, and yup, even more to come tommorow when i do the lights and stuff, will clip it all up though so it looks neat ish, but having no panels to hide it all behind it can be wuite tricky to make it look super tidy
sweet lee, been waiting for this bit!
im at the stage where you have wired the power feeds to the fuse box, need to sort out my relays now, have you a hetaed windscreen?
yupi'm only running a relay for the ignition circuit, rad fan, fuel pump, water pump and the screen, heavy duty switches see to the rest
there isnt much esle to switch lol.
sorry for all the Q's what fuse ratings are you using for said components
30 for pretty much everything tbh, the dash and ecu have seperate 15a resetable circuit breakers and the sidelight circuit has a 20 a fuse
cheers bud.
That dash looks awesome, very cool indeed.
Good work as always mate.
I actually quite enjoy wiring as I'm a touch **** about tidyness etc so I like to see it all looking nice. Th only fear is not really knowing what I'm doing and it never working again! lmao
I remember when I completely stripped and re-done my dash loom last year - I carried around a fire exstinguisher for 6wks! lmao
Simps.

love wirnig compared to panel work or prepin a car!lmao I reckon you've been lookin forward to all this wiring.Looks good dude.
more boring wiring todaynearly got it all connected, even made a start on tidying it up...
but first things first, space heater! definitely a bit chilly today![]()
wiring as it stands
then it was time to programme the dash, you get to select which values you want on permanent display and which you want to scroll along the bottom, what the six red leds do on the side of the unit(upper and lower warning lights for stuff like oil pressure etc) you can
programme the shift lights across the top to fire whenever you like, loads of stuff really!
and its all fairly simple, just one main screen
after that i started the car, then stopped it and remembered to fill the big hole where the servo used to go in the inlet manifold!! whoopslmao
did get a little vid too buts its pretty crap, wasnt idling cos of the servo hole and the throttle
cable is knackered still, highlight is me saying 'where's all that smoke comin from?(wet exhaust wrap incidently)
so next week some more fettling should see it working a bit better...![]()
Very nice
lol at the brake servo hole.
