| so, as promised, more updates!went up there today and did a bit more
got the crossmember right where its meant to be, so decided to make my own version of the hockley plates that go to the crossmember to help secure it!
drivers side
other side
once they were all done i added some extra pieces on the inners to beef it up a bit
then fitted the headlight panel
then cut it up again so i could fit my new ally upper crossmember
its going great tbh, a bit of welding left to patch some bits up, but its 90% fixed, should be onto the rear suspension by the end of the week |

| Lee whilst you are fitting plates A-la hockley continue the plate above the gearbox mount this area is prone to moving as i found out to my cost when i stopped mine where yours is. I think it needs continuing about an inch apst where the mount stops if that makes sense. |

| hi mate
yeah i know the bit you mean, you cant really see it in the pics, but this is actually already double skinned as i had the full plate from hockley on there before, but only cut off the mangled bit, so i have seamed the two plates together now so its almost a full plate, if you see what i mean |

| thought i'd replace the lost pics
the patchwork is finished!
got bored so i thought i'd remove my firewall
so, that all done, its time for the rear
had to remove my backbox, but i dont mind cos its so awesome looking!
cut some holes for the new coilovers, managed to bend the inner skin round to mount to, as its triple skin its plenty strong enough for the job
including in the chassis, which needed re boxing obviously
even found time to move and beef up the lower mount
bit more shaping and patching and we're getting there
handily, i could fold some of the turrets round to the triple skinned inner arches to weld to
presto!, just the other side to do, but that can wait till tommorow
handily, i managed to use some turret off cut to box chassis this side
here's a good pic of the modified lower mount, take care though as, typically for a nova, you'll need to sort of custom position it as the beam isnt in the same place side to side and the arch clearance is different
cutting in a la the other side
welded on the inner arch too for strength
they're like, done and stuff!
oh, and made a rad mount |

Sure those pics were missing an hour or two ago... Thought I'd dreamt them.
Car must be nearing a better state than before it got to Combe, now?

| not 100% it can be done yet myself tbh, just guessing that the hydraulic stuff from the later cars will fit all boxes
benefits are, easier pedal, no more cable changes, trickness |

| I think it can be done. When we put the C20LET into Byron's old Mk4, we changed the F28 to hydraulic by simply sticking the lave cylinder in the box, obviously it's just a replacent release bearing. |
