I have a car cover that I no longer use now if you want it. I want rid of the thing, not used it in 3 years since we moved to the house. Still have the box and it has no holes. I can bring it to Combe if you like. Its a simular one to the one you have now. Let us know if you want it.
hey stu that would be brilliant, i'll give you some beer tokens in exchange![]()

so, tuesday night update, willay showed up for a natter, a pizza and some nuggets, then the jobs began lmao
only thing i did for the nova was move the camera higher, should be better now, then i just did odd jobs for brian, like boxing in the subframe where it hits the sump
bit of CAD later
and some metals work
nice and easy, then chucked some paint around, even did his gearbox just to annoy him when everyone thinks he's doing concourse now lmao
while he's doing little final engine bits, looking like a proper lump now!!
last job i did was space the dry sump pump to suit the belt
next up is to fill it with oil and see if it leaks, getting the job list ticked off now though!!

its doing ok so far, even manages rotation without collapsing!! lol

Shame there's not some nice cams and pistons in this engine, but hey ho. Should be good fun anyway. Can't wait to get it on the rollers to get it mapped. Running out of time now...
Cheers for the help Lee!![]()

Hello Lee,
I had a messy weekend because of the broken upright of corsa. Do you know if anyone is still manufacturing or supplying this?
All the best,
Azmi

lol, plenty of time for that mate, and no worries at all, its actually nice that its not my car needing finishing before a eurp[ean trip for once lmao

Thanks Lee,
I will ask both Robert and hockly. Actually, I am thinking about to manufacture them by myself but I am not sure what kind of steel sheet must be used. If I have to, I am planning to use the lowest carbon steel with a bit more thickness.
All the best,
Azmi

yeah i guess low carbon would be less brittle and less prone to similar failures, they not look too bad to make if you break it down to the individual pieces

just a thought lee would it not be best to use water to check the welds in the sump, it's a lot less expensive and less mess to clean up if it does leak
not that it will
curiosity killed the cat...................but for a while i was a suspect!!
trouble is you're then filling the engine with water, which isn't the best, i'm sure it'll be fine though...

Yes, they are not totally distorted. I think I will manufacture them by myself.
By the way I use gasoline to check cracks and leaks in the sump because of gasoline easly infiltrates unlike water because of the surface tension.
all the best,
Azmi

Yesterday I tested the sump off the engine with some carb cleaner. Could have used parrafin I suppose, but I didn't think of it! lol. Anyway, tested the sump today with some 5W40 whilst it was bolted to the engine. After about 45min there was a drop on the outside of the sump. I spotted where it was coming from and just put chemical metal over it. Got to test the oil pump too, which seems to pump well. I pumped the oil out with the oil pump, was very effective!
So the sump is done. Will bolt it back on tomorrow night when the chemical metal has set properly.
Brian Sidebotham.
good stuff! see you up there tomorrow![]()
