oh, spoke to the bodyshop about the focus, they have quoted 2.5 k just for the metal work, and thats plus suspension damage, so i can see them trying to write it off, FFS!!!! stupid old codger who drove into me, his car had hardly a mark on it!!

Cage looks good, just a slight observation though...

Shouldn't the bar that says "roof bar" be somewhere near the roof? lol

Looks great. If it's anything like my build, it probably hasn't changed that much! lol

I see you decided to run two exhausts. I thought about that, and then thought, sod that, one 2.5" is enough for the 2.5ltr. Actually the last bits for the exhaust just turned up today so that's what I'll be doing this weekend.

    Re: Lee's Garage

It's three inch from where the two manifolds meet and splits into two 2 3/4" pipes in front of the diff. Crosses over in the back box and exits with two 2 3/4" tail pipes. Thought about sticking the exhaust out the passenger side through the sill with two 2 1/2" pipes but one of the petrol tanks ended up getting in the route of the pipe.

    Re: Lee's Garage

righty, a fun packed day at the garage, mainly involving a burgundy astra and this lovely man

was gonna do the front perspex, but it never turned up, so we concentrated on mounting a seat instead, easy enough to make it fit the runners, but at some point some proper fixed side mounts will be fitted

then we played with the cars new climbing frame for a bit, having given it a lick of paint

tried the main hoop while the seats were out, need to cut the sunroof runners out to get it in the right place though, and remove and modify the dash to fit the a pillar bars, should be fun!!

brian has been busy sorting his gearbox and release bearing

and has all the bits he needs for his exhaust, including this silencer

matt is still shaping away, one front corner pretty much done!!

    3 to go lmao

oh, and this pic is purely for jr, seems i made an almost west ham bench painting the cage, want me to do your engine like that???

    Re: Lee's Garage

    its got a nice engine

no other 118bhp 1.8 has take sooo much abuse in 2000 miles and dont low 9 ring laps lmao

Lee, thanks mate, does the bench constantly fail, flatter to decive, build up your hopes and then fade and die, and actullay fail on occasions to represent the purpose its there for, only then can it be a west ham bench

    Re: Lee's Garage

    WOW

Just spent the last few months reading this thread (I did do other stuff, honest) and very impressed with your nova Lee, especially the power you have managed to get from the 1.8 without forced induction.

What sort of power do you think this engine is capable of and still be a daily driver?

I am in the middle of reading some books and hoping to rebuild a 1.8 engine next year at some point for my astra, need to sort out brakes, suspension and a few other things first though.
