pics of said brakes, they are nicely machined as you can see…

but i'm pretty sure this shouldn't be able to happen!!!

lets hope the rest of it is right, nothing to measure it with at home…

    Re: Lee's Garage

    righty, HI SPEC ARE ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    there, that feels better!
here is what hi spec sent me instead of some bells with 4 12.5mm holes at 100mm pcd, i got 4 tapped M10 holes at 96mm!! ffs

so that didn't leave me much option tbh! i did ring them but the woman said i must be lying!! to say i was un-impressed was an understatement! i ended up re-drilling them correctly, but even the centre hole is the wrong size, meaning i had to drill the hub for two lug screws to hold the disc centrally, managed to do it spot on but am fuming that it comes to this, i will be billing hi spec for the work!!!
as you can see, not a good fit!

    compared to the old bells

and what i had to do to sort it

luckily we had a manta hub to use as a template as the M10 holes were at the correct pcd for the manta inner bolts, so i could drill through the hub to the bell to make it accurate
cam out well in the end but what a total **** up hi spec are
they will give the desired clearance in the wheel once the brackets are done though

    will start them tomorrow...
anyways, happier times, painted the spoiler

    looks nice black i think...
and Brian is cracking on with the V6, he got the pullies and stuff on today, but neither of us could remember the timing procedure so will finish that tomorrow, think he should have a sealed ready to fit tb'd v6 by tomorrow avo

but now the really good news, Alex turned up with the 'bite my…' sticker for the boot, and the shonky opels stickers too!!!

they are totally brilliant, got some camcover text ones too in the same font, so top top banana to him for that, excellent work mate

    Re: Lee's Garage

they said i could send them back, and they old check them and make new ones if what i said was true
tbh though, having ****ed them up once my faith in them has gone, and i need to get the car done, so waiting another week for bells didn't appeal, i wouldn't mind but they phoned me three times for the same information during the order and even told me they had done lots of novas so had the pcd etc on file, just very poor service all round imo

    Re: Lee's Garage

now i would just got for universal ones from rally design tbh and machine them myself, seems the better option by far...

anyway, repainted the spoiler today as it looked a bit patchy, also did the rain gutter trims too, as i thought they looked odd in grey…

also took a whole car shot just for willay...xx

    needs a bloody clean though…lmao

Brian meanwhile was painting stuff too, after we got his cambelt on…

he's currently finishing porting on his inlet manifolds, then will bolt them on, and next week we get to have a go at making an exhaust!!

did have a look at my brake brackets too, will order the ally i need tomorrow and make them tuesday night with any luck, might even get a drive in it next weekend, who knows...
