I'm only pulling your chain matey, I was going to use the :P smiley but it's apparently aliem to Mig![]()
righty, an action packed fun filled day today!!
went off to stafford this morning with Brian to collect another v6 for his collection, highlights included almost crashing into the cones trying to make a junction little late and almost loosing the engine out the back of the van as we left the M6 toll booth lmao, was bloody excellent!! as was standing in the van trying to get the engine back upright at 50 MPH lmao!!!
so after all that excitement, we got back to the garage so brian could strip it to bits, and i got on with my spoiler, first things first, cut it in half as it was too wide…
not the best thing to do to a new bit but hey, then i cut the required 60mm out of the main plane, and made a little template so i could drill the two ends for some studs to make the rejoin stronger, worked pretty well!!
out with the fibrall, and it was back together!!
let that set for a while so helped brian strip the V6, which is in excellent condition considering it was Ј100!!
then found some excellent ice on the service road to macdonalds, Brian span the van but managed to avoid the BMW drivers fate
lmao, too many electronics to rely on i think!!
so that done, more spoiler work, need to make some brackets as the integral roof line is somewhat shallower than the nova, so a two templates and CAD later,
will go here
and in the middle position it will look like this
proper happy with that tbh, will look even better in the fully upright, or full wanker position lol, will make the brackets out of steel tomorrow and finish it up ready for paint, Brian even got the V6 on a stand, and i believe the bottom end will besting together with his ported heads etc on them to make his first engine so he definitely makes germany,
oh and much love to Brian and Matt for spoiler modelling duties.....![]()

okey dokey, made the final brackets for the spoiler today and mounted it up
first thing was to slightly change the design, as i wanted it to sit higher, then lay out the strangest looking plate i think i have ever cut out lmao
which then folded up to this…
should be strong enough once the corners are welded as the sides are boxed and the angles aren't 90 degree, but we shall see, have kept the template just in case lmao
so, how it looks in the various positions, even the bonnet pins still fit!!
down flat with the roof(doubles as a handy tea tray too!)lmao
middle position(where it will spend most of its life i think) the change in bracket design means it look right now with the spoiler following the bracket line to the roof
and the infamous 'full wanker' position lmao
which requires these extra brackets
still undecided on colour, i think it may go black though with red brackets, as it will suit the roof vent better, but we shall see…
Brian has been busy too, his handbrake being nearly done, just needs a bracket on the floor to support the other side, looks wicked though, left him assembling his heads for the V6

Love the spoiler does the gap from it to the boot not matter? Should push the arse down...
Handbrake is very sexy.
I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.
the gap is a little larger than on the integrale because of the difference in roof line angle being made up by the ally brackets, it shouldn't matter really, as it only there when the spoiler is flat when tis doing nothing
at 45 and 90 degrees the whole spoiler plane is in the airflow so should be effective enough, gonna finish off the brackets tuesday(need to change the lower edge looking at the pics) then paint it up thinking it will all be black, probably satin rather than matt though

hmm, as a tip, if say, you were on the phone to a customer waiting on some brake discs that are two days late after a two week lead time, and you went to ask the machinist where the bells are as the discs were in stock at the start of the order
MUTE YOUR PHONE!! that way i won't be able to hear the machinist saying, 'oh, dunno where they are then as i did them ages ago!?!" FFS
also when asked for a delivery date, joking saying xmas 2011 won't serve you well either!!! WTF has happened to customer service nowadays???
rant over...still no brakes![]()
