dont stop with the poster, paint the nova silver and paint a big bender faceon the bonnet with arms going down the sides and the front flap on the roof.
trouble is i cant just peel that off when i grow tired of it

so, an almost normal tuesday night update, must be getting back into the swing of things!
firstly i mot proofed( i hope) the nova, including fitting normal headlight bulbs again and trimming the sharp splitter edge with some rubber(temporary fix)
that done it was time to do JR's head, firstly i measured all the chambers and they are all 46cc, so thats a bonus
then i had to lap the valves in, pic whore for jr's sake...
take one unlapped valve
add some grinding paste
get your twizle stick out
add some garage sustenance
and you'll soon have a result like this on every valve, note the nice smooth continous grey line round the valve
and the seat
generally this means you;re done, but i like to check for a seal with some white spirit, and and they all sealed up lovely, so that part done, time for a good clean up of the head, lapping paste is not the best to leave in a fresh engine!! so marked the valves so i knew where to put them back...
also cleaned the inlet and exhaust faces, they seemed like they needed it
then its time for assembly, all these bits need to go in there somewhere, and dont forget to put the spring seats in before you fit the stem seals!!
and grease the valve tips to stop them shredding the new seals as you install, also helps hold the collets
some swearing, a greased screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers later, and we're done!
looks nice and at home here
now you have a bigger covered up lump in the garage jameslmao
oh, and also, i might have maybe stamped this into your head so in years to come when someone finds the head in a scrappie somewhere they can read that and think it must have been some uber special better than cosworth edition, or something...
also, in exciting news, the lathe is fully functional now, look it even does stuff by itself to a programme!
making some lovely bits now...
and they're all on file and repeatable!![]()

I was gonna get Brian to make me up a new lower pole section for the washing line as the misses stuck all heavy towels on one side so it bent over in the wind.
However due to argos's lax attitude to returns she managed to swap it out yesterday.
Shame. I was looking forward to a blue anodized lower pole section.
Close to getting the engine in the car then JR?
I'll be at the ring next year with my pug (of not so much noise as the cav). You taking yours?
Lee - you will look super cool in your sunnies doing your present.![]()
Giles hopefully i'll be making the noise![]()
