righty, after getting my mates golf going, never trust a friend who says he's done your cambelt timing apparently!(not the owner of the car but someone else who had done it for him) it was 180 degrees out!
after that i went up the garage to do a couple more small jobs, sump gasket being the main one, but also drained all the oil to do a change as it hasnt had one since i got back from germany
empty tank

sump off and cleaned

all done, just need to get some oil to fill it back up

and brian did some stuff too, like fitting his passenger seat

a view i'm looking forward to seeing in anger soon

so, just the driveshaft issue to sort now and its ready again...

leaking gasket, wasnt too bad, but i never would have done it had i got the car back together and working so thought it best to get it done now
