Awesome place for the oil temp sensor! Right next to the thermostat for the cooler! Probably isn't a better place for it!

    Re: Lee's Garage

trouble is dave you'd need to bring it down to track and road or its not really a fair comparison

more little jobs completed tonight, have had a slight issue with my brake light switch
being a bit crap and stopping working every once in a while, so thought i would swap to an inline pressure activated switch
so, ordered this from merlin motorsport, off a harley apparently!

comes with fitting that go direct to a -3 hose with olives, so easy to fit, goes here, in the rear line as the rears are easier to bleed after fitting! lmao cheers to essex gte for the leg work...

    wires still to be tidiedlmao
that done i reset my gearlinkage so the reverse detent now works, and shortened a fuel line a tiny bit so it didnt touch the dry sump tank anymore

then watched man u get to the champions league final, so all in all a top night

    Re: Lee's Garage

righty, went up today to do the final things before the rolling road session next week

firstly was an oil change, took the tank out and cleaned it out and did the same with the oil cooler too so i could make sure it was properly flushed out

then pissed about with the throttle cable so i could get full throttle and made sure my new injectors wil fit

they are peco yellows so i needed to be sure the would fit the rail without the spacers that are used with stock bosch type injectors, you can see the height difference here

shaould say at this point that Bowyer let me down yet again by not getting my injectors i paid him for here by today despite his assurances that he would on monday, so i had to buy another set from SBD who had them in stock, a leopard dosent chage its spots, as they say

then jr from corsasport showed up with an XE bottom end he wants me to look over and rebuild for him
its had a bore and a grind and been put together, but apparently the builder has no idea that you need a clean enviroment to build an engine in, it was caked in crap, the rings being particularly dirty, brand new bearings with some light scoring etc etc
thats Animals hand in the pic, he actually popped up too today!

so anyways thats in bits now and off for a bottom end balance then we can put it back together
the boring was actually very good and the crank clearances are fine, which makes it even more of a shame it was slung together so shoddily tbh
still, we shall sort it now:nods:

so thats it till the mapping now, gonna take it for a good drive tommorow and make sure its ok though, just to be sure!
oh and cow update, the little-uns are geting bigger! lmao

    Re: Lee's Garage

yup, tis jr's engine, there was some crap in there that was just because of how it was stored, but the stuff on the rings and the bearings was obviously there from build up, the rear main would have leaked like a good un too, shame as the bores etc are spot on, will be spotless when it goes together this time

and err, no, matts manta isnt finished, he spent the day doing his mondeo brakes and sorting through his stuff to see what to throw away so he can actually get to the manta to work on itlmao
