    Its coming along mate!

I know you've told me this before but why don't you bother running the overflow to the header? something to do with the electric pump?

yeah, basically if you have that open to the header, the pump just empties the end tank on the radiator then sucks in air from the top of the header, rather than drawing water through the rad, leading to mucho cavitation, would more than likely be fine if the rad over flow was on the other side of the radiator, but blocking it off isnt a big deal, no thermostat either as the controller deals with tthe temp by pulsing the pump when needed

    like its a hire car
pump and controller sound cool, I assume if you fitted on to a road car tho, youd have no heater till everything was up to temp?

Yes, shonky fords suck, but the 3x2 foot rusty hole is now finished!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... "f*ck, what a trip!"

yeah, you can run them with a stat though, and the heater would work like a normal car, but when i have no heater matrix or bypass circuit on this engine due to the tbs and the way i piped it, it needs to run sans stat
    glad the ford is donelmao

righty, well had a delivery or two today, which was nice...

parts include, new bearing for cambelt idlers, alternator top adjuster, crank sensor extension harness, some thermotech wrap and a freshly skimmed head with new guides fitted and seats recut!
so, first things first, take one freshly skimmed head

and cc the chamber to check my maths and the guys skimming its' measuring!

handily it all works out as i expected, 12.08 - 1 compression
had to cc it with the old valves though as the new ones dont fit, they are 0.1 mm bigger in diameter though so they wouldnt!
need to phone bowyer to check whether they are meant to be that diameter or not(4.95mm) before i do any guide reaming/brush honing though...

so, did th eother stuff i could get on with instead of the planned valve lapping in session,
firstly did the bearings in the idler, old one in the center, circlips not refitted yet

then chekced the alternator adjuster fitted(read played with it as it looks cool!)

also fitted a blank to the dipstick tube hole as i wont be needing that anymore...

and lastly, clamped the exhaust on its jig in a vice and, wearing my best GLC velour tracksuit and sovereigns, got to 'rappin yo'lmao

    getting there slowly...

because it slips apart so easily that its just easier to have it clamped up in place, also makes it easier to wrap as you can pull the wrap tight against it

head is now gonna be sent off to bowyer to re-size the guides for me, not particulrly happy with ring engineering for deforming them when fitting though

Bummer. Guess their special tool wasn't actually *that* special. Will be good to get Bowyer on the case though - should just be a quick ream.

    2 many 2 list
ive just had to catch up and read the last 4 pages took me ages lol.
    Looking very good lee,

tell me to shut the **** up but isint it better to soak exhaust wrapp in water before fitting it, ive been told it swells (lengthens) it and keeps the dust particals down. then when it drys it strinks back and tightens. of course this is pub talk lol.

keep up the good work mate.
    stu

p.s. if i knew them spanners were from the usa i would have bought some back.
has scrapped the sig with all the cars to do list!!!!! 3 novas i own says it all really

as for the wrap, yeah, some people soak it before fitting, but this is just to keep the fibres down, cant see any advantage of it shrinking or whatever, but hey, horses for courses and all that
