well, been wanting to be able to post pics like this for ages! today was the day Brian and i painted his manta!
first thing first, got the car masked and primered up yesterday

then flatted that off today with some 500 wet and dry

then, after a good de dust and prep with panel wipe and a tack cloth, it was out with the orange!lmao

    did three coats in total

the finish is excellent, not all the panels are arrow straight, but for its intended use it awesome! the roof finish is flat, thats a reflection of a dust sheet over the car roof you can see in this pic lmao

the straight out the gun finish is so good that when its flatted and polished it will be perfect!

neither of us could resist removeing what masking we could without disturbing the paint, the contrast to the white just makes it look even more ace!

to say we're chuffed with the results is an understatement, and i'm very glad to be involved in the project
even makes up for me not getting my engine bits again this weekend, shall rectify that next week with some luck....

still waiting on parts delivery, but when that happens, i need to send the bottom end off for balancing, and get the guides swapped in the head, get it skimmed and have the seats recut, find a headgasket from somewhere, then i can build it, which i am desperate to do now!!lmao

    like its a hire car
the Hilmersson racing manta A withe the redblock volvo turbo motor?
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... "f*ck, what a trip!"

NICE! I wanted me old Firenza in nuclear orange (note to self, must get another if I ever finish current projects)

So how much is brian charging for spray jobs now then>? lmao

Looks like the motivation ball is well and truly rolling in brians world. or something. Any chance of rolling it over here?

will let it set a couple of weeks before we flat it, be annoying to ruin it by rushing, probably gonna respray my wings and bonnet now we have a good gun to use, makes alot of difference!

as for wiring loom, mine or his? mine wont be altered at all and brians will be a custom one anyway
