The engine bay is also nearly completed now, looms are all back in electrics all sorted (apart from engine loom) just need to get few bits and bobs powder coated in the engine bay etc, and get my coilovers sorted.............

I think the car was originally from mk, i brought it from northampton and i brought it to use the engine from it for my girlfriends car (she has a 2 tone corsa black and orange......ex redline car) then i fort id just do this project.....

yeah should be quite soon...............need clutch and conversion kit then the engine can go in!

no the engine is still on the engine stand so cant fit it till it comes off of that! i just need to buy a clutch and conversion kit before i can fit the engine so there aint really much point in takin it off the engine stand till then!? Once i get the conversion kit and clutch will convert the gearbox, put flywheel and clutch on and put the engine in.well thats the plan!! lol

Be interesting to see if you can fit the multi V belt and bottom pulley in the bay, as i know the single V is very close on the suspension top.

ive altered the chassis slightly and ive measured against a mates who has a single vee and im sure it will go, if worse comes to worse then ill have to go for a single vee but fingers crossed it'll go!?

we'll see!!!!! lol

and a pic of the rims (the front ones)............dont take no notice of how they look at the mo, they arent stayin like that, and its going to be seriously decked!!!! They are really old school borbet rims, and i have all the centre caps for them etc..........they are 7 x 15

i also have a set of speedline alesio's in 16's so will be using them too



work still to do in the engine bay is to remove anti rol bar and tie rods, clean off old paint and go to the powder coaters, replace lower arms and ball joints, fit coilovers, and fit my new brakes......they are ready to go on but not really much point as i have to change the hubs so wud be a waste of time to be fair!!

the flywheel was brought from vlxgsi from this forum......i will upload a pic of the back, it is a really good quality flywheel tho and very reasonably priced!

the cam cover has actually been powder coated, i originally wanted a standard lookin silver cover but then my mate twisted my arm into havin it that colour and im well chuffed with the outcome!! it is like a chrome paint, and does look nice, the pics dont do it justice!! its quite handy knowing a powder coater especially when im going to be gettin the rims done, along with all of the anti-roll bars etc!

yeah have made up new brake pipes and also have a set of goodridge braided hoses (in the pic the rear ones are actually fitted to the front as i forgot to take the front ones up when i made the brake pipes and needed to join the brake pipes to something so i could shape them properly) also have 2.0l astra gsi brake set up for the front with dotted and grooved discs, but no point in fitting them until i have fitted the m-tec hubs!

also yesterday cleaned up the steering rack of all the old maskin tape and primer, and gave a coat of black paint, so that looks the buisness now too

update.............have now got my coilovers (fk) and they should be going on this weekend fingers crossed!

coilovers now on and anti-roll bar and track contol arm off, sand blasted and off to the powder coaters tomorrow, will get pics up soon!!

helix 4 paddle clutch also being ordered next week along with the conversion kit!!! cant wait now
