well me being me i had to find something to do to the corsa.........so ive decided to make a custom louvred bonnet! With the corsa bay being so small for the engine i decided that i want to get alot of the heat from the bay to help keep it abit cooler! I decided on some louvres but also decided against a one way 4 hour trip to cool louvres lol, so firstly the bonnet went to a custom pannel maker in my town, but when he tried his louvre press tool on some of the similar gauge steel to the bonnet as its an alloy press tool it started to trar the metal as he worked his way up the bonnet! so that was out of the window which was crap!!!!!!! Any way not giving up me and my dad were going to make a louvre tool to use in a fly press but that then was going to be alot of hassle (albeit a challenge!) so i spoke to more and more contacts around my area but none of them were convinced they culd do it.....GREAT!! Anyhow after a chat with my mates dad who has a massive engineering buisness he said i could happily take my bonnet over and see if it would fit in his louvre machine (massive hydraulic press - nearly as big as a transit) anyhow with it being as bit i thought this will be a walk in the park until he showed me the size of the "Mouth".................Damm bonnet aint never going in there!!!! So whilst i was there i decided that it would be a good idea to get some louvres presses into some sheet metal, so the machine was set up and approx 30 seconds later ive got my louvres on sheet metal!

I then decided that i would cut out the bonnet and weld the louvres in rather than taking it elsewhere as it made sense! so i nipped around to see an engineer friend of mine and together we had a chat about how we'd sort it i didnt want to weld them straight in as it would distort the bonnet massively, so wot we eventually decided on was cutting out a hole for them to sit in then from underneath push the louvres up and spot weld them in! after a while of measureing and cutting etc we finally got the louvres welded in, i decided against having the louvres sticking out of the bonnet (as it reminded me of a fiesta rs turbo) so what i did in the end was have them upside down pointing backwards to allow hot air to pass backwards out of them bonnet is now at my mates body shop where he will give it a quick skim of filler and then paint it, ready for pv
