    Good stuff Brett, thanks.

An Audi must be wider than a Nova, and the beam will be a good deal less wide than the Nova itself...

Measure yours! The front of the hubs will be the same.

Using this lead and a HIGHLY MODIFIED Nokia headset it turns the Kenwood CD player's CD changer function into an Aux input. So I effectively have an MP3 player in the car now. I ran the phone end of the cable in the same way as the phone kit cable.

Well we got the Corsa running sweet as a nut after replacing the bottom end....but its just broke that one too.

For the time i had it running i was really impressed. And that was only with 133bhp lol - Lost the remaining 20 odd bhp through the side of the HG!!!

It's ok on long runs, I think it's on near 240 miles to £30 of super.

Around town with the temptation to give it some it's pretty poor.

I could get 100 miles per tenner in mine a year ago (fuel prices roughly same) infact I get that from all my cars. My GTE was a lambda-less one & considering I sold it to have a 1.2 SPi Nova for commuting, the Nova was poor tbh.

    Should have kept the GTE.

Trouble with mine, I drive it about once a week if that, so the novelty of that power hasn't worn off yet, so it tends to get driven reasonably hard.

Bit of a change of plan with regards to the ICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I managed to get my sweaty mits on a original spec GTE stereo! It was locked, but a very useful site, radio-code.co.uk, can send the unlock code to your phone for £9 compared to local shops that wanted £25. It worked too! I think the original code is simply an amalgamation of the serial number of somefink. Anyway, here it is. A couple of bulbs have blown:

It all works as it should. It has some nice features considering it's age, like electronic bass and treble control, Dolby noise reduction on the tape deck, the radio comes on whilst searching for songs on the tape and the sources can be swapped with the tape still in the player by pressing the mode button etc. Also it's nice to be able to switch it on and off without the ignition.
Now, obviously with this unit I can't use the previous aux input arrangement. So I bought a FM transmitter from eBay and changed the HIGHLY MODIFIED Nokia headset to one 3.5mm headphone socket from the 2 RCA phonos.
This worked, but produced very distorted sound. Then I remembered I found one of those tape input things in a scrapyard:

This actually produces very good sound.

Additionally, the way the 2 ISO connectors plug into the back of the stereo cage means I had to remove the phone kit completely for now, but as the lead from the phone to the tape thing is a HIGHLY MODIFIED Nokia headset, if it rings all I have to do is answer it on the phone and I can speak on the headset's microphone and still hear through the stereo. Neat.
