    The 'F' word...

My compulsive buying streak has got the better of me - gone and bought another car, damnit. Neither got the space time or money for this. So lucky it's in alright shape - and starts on the key! I'll have some progress reports later.

Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. It's a 2.0 - so as much poke as steven hawking, 'll have to figure out what to do with it that won't cost the earth and won't use up all the time I need for the viva. Ho hum.

P.S. those chuffing stickers will be the first things to go. Tasteless tat.

Ooooooh no. Less power than a 2.0 zetec, and as heavy as the focus. Naaah thinking of something a bit more modern I think. Not sure what though. With the XE I have up the road from me...

Some pics without all the crap stickers. Couple of bits before I can MOT it - one would be a leaking fuel line and the shagged TCA's - I presume that would be an MOT failure? Kind of feeling the ratty look of it. Will get rid of the couple of rust spots on the body and primer it, but thinking of just glossing over with laquer and leaving it patchy. I'll see.

Ho hum, better go get a chest wig and a medallion an all

    Getting bonnet sprayed:

The wheels that are going on it:

Should be sprayed by friday evening, so I'll try and get some pics up of it then.

Mental. Weld the doors shut 'General Lee' style. Looks cool without the lamps in too.

Make a custom full width grille to cover over the lamps.

    Several years back I had a Mk2 (P Plate) 3ltr Capri gear.
Half leather, vinyl roof and... MANUAL (rare).

Was rotten as a pear but my mate and me loved to stik a fiver in it and thrash it round the back roads. Excellent drifting car. Soooo muh fun. I'd definatly have another.

That might be the best idea I have heard suggested for it!

Like a dodge charger look but without the rotating lamps.

    Ace!

Such a laugh to pick it up. I didn't drive it to the MOT place so didn't know what it felt like after a new steering rack, polybushed front, new pads, discs, brake lines and new fluid and a good bleed. Damn all swearing and sweating was worth it - a changed beast!

Now for the mondy brakes and the rebuilt unleaded head...

No chance GW. I've got one sitting on the patio but it's staying out of the capri.

I've got a nice crower waiting to go on, twin 40's and am hunting for a manifold. A quick port, larger inlet valves, some 3angle valve seats and a higher CR'll keep me happy. Till I get bigger brakes at least.

Just working on the twin MK2 grill set up at the mo to go all the way across the front.

Well after a lull, settiling into uni and everything, the fun stuff has finally started arriving. Now the 'ri can have some power and not have the oh-so-catchy-tappety soundtrack.

lmao the idea appeals to me so much, like a billet grille, but for the cost of the grilles i'm going to butcher and so on i'd prefer to spend the time/effort on other bits n bobs - there's plenty of em to do.

For the price of that lot you could have put a rover v8 in it (quite easy to do done it before)

I could have, but the insurance would bend me over a barrel so I can't. Not for a couple of years, and when i have the NCD it won't be a V8 going in, anyhoo. Picked up the head today, nnhooooge valves, steel valves, ported inlet and exhaust and a fresh looking bit of polishing, oh and some three angle valve seats, can't wait to get it all hooked up.

Get a straight-through exhaust, and some black paint splashed over it, and a full-width grille and it'll be the tits.
