    Sounds cool, but I wonder NDZ was super mint too, how come you chose to use another shell?

    Porsche blue is a great colour keith if you remember mine!

    Yeah it was mint, but an 80k shell vrs a 10k shell. I know what i'd choose and thats what i did

    Well, incase your all wondering what the hell i've been up to. Here's the latest mod.

    I send the old turbo off to Universal turbos for a recon. I went for a stage 1 hybrid, which runs a larger bearing, compressor wheel and better flowed internals.

    Also opted for a new actuator to cope with the added increase in PSI.

    It came back looking absolutely fantastic

    It will not be the same turbo keith! Yours comes in, they send a reconned one off the shelf out to you then put yours in for stripping for parts etc.

    Looks good though, what year do you expect it done?

    It actually is the same turbo, as its got a few marks in it i've matched up with old pictures!

    I want it finished for 2008, and i think thats achieveable. I'll have the shell strengthened, dipped/coated and painted by Ade culley, back in my garage for september. The engine will be finished ready to be dropped in. And i should have all the powder coating/cleaning of bits done.

    Then i just need new suspension, some form of interior/retrim, intercooler/rad, and all the cooling/boost pipes etc.

    looking well keith. could you do me a favour and measure the outside diameter of the turbo outlet. im not sure if its 48 or 52 and i need to order a silicone hose for the calibra

    You know the old clearance for slam panel issue?

    The actual main center bit will not be the same. Maybe the casings are the same ones but the actual turbo itself will be one that has already been reconditioned.

    Snap.........me and keith did i kinda deal with universal turbo's so got a better deal!! Got mine back today looks superb!! i also got the stage 1 hybrid..........i had to have a new exhaust wheel on mine tho as it was damaged so it cost a little bit more but still over the moon with it and looks just like a new turbo!! just gotta wait for my coolant pipes to turn up then its goin on!!

    Give universal a call mate, i'm sure they'll do you a good deal! - They were much cheaper than anywhere else.

    Got some passat syncro bearings to make some GrpA front hubs, that shouldnt break under pressure







    Some poly bush's for my steering rack







    Some new braided brake lines (forgot to take them off my old shell lol)










    And finally, but the best, is the new equal length driveshaft setup - Thanks to Mark Beeson for sorthing this out!



    Connecting shaft from box to bracket







    New custom outer shaft - Just needs some new C.V joints.
