Keith. Theres the answer to running the loom into the cabin.

Through the servo bracket. Put a proper master cylinder on & get rid of the transfer bar. Neat wiring entry to the cabin & the Novas achilles heel (brakes) will be forgotten forever.

Jonlem has got a contact to build me a custom loom which is very very neat. So the loom wont be a problem. I wont be moving the servo either, i never has problems with my brakes. Corsa brakes werent great either, and moving the servo to your location is only a slight improvement.

My nova out braked all my mates corsas and he's had 3. inc 2 GSI's.

Yeah it can go under no probs, but it wont meet up with the turbo lol. I will get the turbo intake cut and welded out straighter so i can get away without touching the panel

Not really a new thing, i've looked at a few nova turbos at the shows and its getting pretty common now to mod the turbo intake pipe to stop you having to touch the front panel

Would it be possible for contact deatils of the guy thats makig the custom loom? As im wanting to route the wiring for my c16xe nova through the original location (but c16xe loom isnt long enough, so will need extented anyway, so would be neater if its all made to measure)

You finish your astra too!! :P

Dont worry everyone, i'll be doing loads over the next few months. Going to mod the turbo, get the bay welded and HH kit fitted, strip the shell to its bare bones and send the engine for the rebuild.

Nothing as yet - I'm going to sell the Nova i got for the girlfriend (see other thread and make me an offer people) and hopefully that will kick me off with some cash to get the ball rolling.

The engine is back out and will be going for the rebuild in Jan. Also the shell will be going to get your kit welded in and seam welded. Then its just a matter of saving hard to get it sent away for dipping/paint.

Been looking at tie bars etc, looks like i'll eventually be buying some of your lowered tie bar brackets chris.

I can yes, but theres no room to put everything. I'll strip it bare a few days before it go's for welding. Then tidy it all away whilst its away. See... i make sence

Exact same problem I've got! My car is in my parents garage with very limited space. I've removed the front end (wings, bumper & headlights) and put them in the spare room (which doesn't get used) and have suffered a barage of complaints!! I know if I strip it down now things will not get done for months because of money etc so there's just no point! I'm with your plan dude.

    Simps.

p.s. sorry i've not spoken to you since added to msn but my stints online are in very short bursts and I always forget to log into messenger!

p.p.s Am I drunk and just waffling on?......

I just got the wishbones back today from my neighbour, they've been plated at the bottom to box them in and add strength. I also asked him to put in two small tubes where the bolts go, to prevent the box section collapsing when under pressure from the bolts.

The ball joint will run on top (usually inside the section) and the tie bar below (to clear the gearbox)

Some pics, Check out how neat the tig welding is!!

Looking ace so far Keith - what are the plans for paint/bodywork? Would be so nice to keep it as a fairly standard Mk1 - obviously with a slightly altered front valance for and intercooler

Unfortunatly all the mk1 goodies are off to owners of nova sport projects. The paint will be something subtle, metallic and classy, and it will be styled like my old NDZ 1331 (GSI, vented wings, headlight washers, speedlines) A bit common styled maybe, but its the way i like them and the way i always wanted my nova turbo in my head.
