Engine is just at the builder having the piston crowns machined for valve clearence, hopefully i will have it back tomorrow so i can build it up.
Shell is painted and requires rebuilding and panels fitting, currently the rear brakes are fitted but that is about all. Started to fit the roof lining today but it is a slag of a job.
Here are some pics of how it is at the min:
Hope to have the engine back and i place by monday or tuesday at the latest.
I have been measuring and decided it will not make much difference. The flywheel is a SBD item designed for the clutch. Hopefully i will get the spacer tomorrow but if not i will go and drop the head lining material at the trimmers. Got to pull the sunroof out though
Thats looking like a neck snapping clutch. Once spaced what about release bearing/clutch fork travel?
Thiking about it i suppose it wont make much differance if the clutch pack in longer right?
You might wanna pm sbd16vastra,i thikn he had a swirl pot in his and he's breaking it so maybe its for sale.

There is a external waste gate in the way and i have a catch tank that has replaced the engine's standard breathers. There are no pipes on the back of the cover either.
I got my swirl pot made by Forge Motorsport. 1.5ltr external with -JIC connectors. IIRC was about £120 delivered. Excellent quality.
Demontwits do a comparable ATL one (quality wise and size wise). Even with discount it's about £160 delivered (way overpriced if you ask me). Oh - I even tried ATL direct but they wanted to charge me the same price.
Someone was discussing swirl pot tsizes the other day and mentioned they had or might get a 4ltr one. IMHO that is just daft. 1.5ltr with the correct pumps and line set-up will be more than you need. IMO the 4ltr enthusiasts are not undertsanding what a SP does and how it works - bigger does NOT just mean it's better.
Gearbox is now on the engine and its ready to be fitted. Hopefully i will have it in today or tomorrow. Just been getting some bolts as i had lost a few!
wicked the spacer wasn't to big in the end. why don't engine builders shot blast the block for that ultimate paint finish who's doing your exhaust down pipe ? mine was a bargain i thought £90 what is your ecu again rick ?
I did once have it running on the old engine. Ran fine but a lot has changed since then so not even going to try starting it. Its going straight off for mapping once i have it built. Still a lot to do though.

There were some pics up a while ago. Its a similar design to the one on sunnys and paul j's fiesta zetecs. Done the business on there cars so shud be fine on my car. I am running a focus central throttle body.
Paint is just some matt black stuff from halfords iirc.
