are the 20ne and 20seh ecu's interchangable?
are the 20ne and 20seh ecu's interchangable?

Nope, I have two here next to each other. I'm gonnsa attempt a NE head on a SEH block. Hoping to put the SEH EPROM in the NE ECU.
The SEH EPROM is in a socket, the NE EPROM is soldered direct to the board.![]()

They're there, in their room.
Also the SEH has three rows of pins, the NE two rows.

NO they are interchangeable as long as they are the same Motronic number. The only difference is the EEPROM. I thing the 3 row ECU is Motronic 1.5 system and the 2 row ECU is Motronic 4.1 system. I converted my 20NE Motronic 1.5 to use the the 20SEH EEPROM after swaping the CAM with a SEH and all still work fine.
hi
I run a 20ne, my dads on a 20seh... I was told you can stick a SEH ecu onto a NE but it doesn't make much difference as the major difference between the two engines is the dishing in the top of pistons on the NE where as the SEH does not which changes the compression and overall bhp etc (i hope this is knowledge i am rattling off and not bo****ks lmao )
but saying that my car was built on a Friday I reckon cause its just as nippy as any SEH![]()
what i would really like to get is mapping info mation on all the ecu's availalble for the ser/seh as ive tried 2 diff ecu's both with vastly different characteristics.
i think there is about 4 different ecu's for the motronic 1.5 precat seh/ser
what kind of a t*ss*r puts signatures in .....huh???
so would they be interchangable, if they was the same age, as that probably denotes what motronic number they are doesnt it? both from 1988.mk2 cav.

Mk2 Cav with 20NE engine are rare. Usually they are Mk2 SRI130 with 20SEH engine and the ECU is definetelly Motronic ML4.1. ECU from later models Motronic 1.5 will not fit the Mk2 SRI130 without a new wiring loom.

You right for the 20NE engine there appears to be a number of EEPROM versions, but for 20SEH there is just one. They all use the same ECU, just the EEPROM is different.
