Using standard exhaust, will have one made if money becomes available.
Cut cat off V6 downpipes, welded exhaust clamp off ford escort onto remaining pipe, flared end of existing astra exhaust to match and simply bolted together. Easy really.

X prefix is for Ecotec petrol engines, Y for Diesel

Has something to do with the Eco regulations they conform to.

I think the petrol 2.6 is called the Z26XE ( Z=Eco 4 regs )

Isn't the latest Eco version ( Eco 4 ) a Z prefix ?:confused:

Apart from the 2.6, the only Y prefix engines I've seen have all been diesel ( eg. Y20DTH ). Maybe different regs for different markets ?

Just had a look at last months TV ( page 113 ) - according to that the Y prefix means it conforms to Euro 3 emissions spec.

C = Euro 1
X = Euro 2
Y = Euro 3
Z = Euro 4

Guess a lot of the Vaux range went straight from Euro 2 to 4 ( eg Astra 1.8 - wifes X reg one had an X18XE, but her new one has a Z18XE ) ?:confused:
