    Re: new suspension

I had an apex kit back in the day. Was alright.

    40mm drop quoted though

what engine are you running mate??

if you have say a 1.8 or a 2l with the thicker drive shafts calibra set up works but need a bit of work doing to them. But i have done this to my car and is made a huge difference. It dont handle on rails but its alot stiffer and less like a boat lol

things you will need to do to get them to fit propperly are as follows
-using new standard mk3 top mounts drill them out to a 15mm center. to use these u will have to loose most of the calibra top section.
-use new astra mk3 springs al are alot lower than cally ones trust me my car was on stilts lol

do all this before u go to change them it will be a bolt off bolt on job

take your time tho and use spring compressors

    ^ WTF lol

Why not just get some uprated shocks, Bilstein spring to mind, no pun intended. Then a set of Apex springs and Bobs your uncle. No need cutting, drilling and frankly fecking about.

tru tru lol im like to work things like this out the old fassioned way plus i had to use the cally set up as needed to uprate other bits when i did my engine conversion

u may think its a lot of work but it aint too bad plus the cally set up i got for £35 from my local brakers hade new bearings, new shocks, new disks+pads etc etc i thought u cant go wrong for 35 quid

    Re: Mk3 Astra Suspension Choices

I have Apex springs on mine which drop it 40mm, sits very nice and handles surprisingly well.

    Re: Mk3 Astra Suspension Choices

im running the c20ne lump out a calibra with big block hubs and shafts (originally c14nz small block)....i'd rather just keep the suspension made for the astra (design aspect)...was just asking if anyone knew of a kit for the mk3 that didnt lower it or at best to 25-30mm max....i just want it stiffer really...have been looking at sets of g-max/spax/blistein etc mainly for as little as drop as possible
