Heater Control Panel Lights - Corsa B
HI guys,
I'm in the process of replacing the little bulbs behind the heater control panel, fed up of it not being lit up.
However is it possible to replace the light/bulb for the rear de-mist toggle, I know its has a low level light constantly, and then well it's pulls out it gets brighter, and mine does neither. Can it be replaced, and how?
Thanks,
Nate

Re: Heater Control Panel Lights - Corsa B
On earlier models there is a bulb in the the switch itself, accessible from the rear (the top 2 pins of the switch are the bulb holder iirc). Later models don't seem to have it and rely on some (rather poor) plastic refractors from the 2 main bulbs I found when I did mine.

I have a V reg, so can it not be repaired on my car? Or is there a way?

Take it out and have a look. It's a bitch to do but you'll see what bulbs go where and how it's set up.

Re: Heater Control Panel Lights - Corsa B
The part in question is the mechanism behind the centre dial that controls the fan speed and the rear demist. It also has the two little bulbs mounted to it. Just not a clue how to get into the actual part to have look :/

Re: Heater Control Panel Lights - Corsa B
You have to take the heater control part of the centre console out, or at least pull it far enough away from the dash to get behind it.
Two screws behind the centre heater vents from memory and I think another couple underneath through the ashtray. Possibly have to take the front ones out as well behind the recirc slider trim piece. Can't remember 100% how much needs to come off as it was the first time I'd done one of that year and was figuring it out as I went.

Re: Heater Control Panel Lights - Corsa B
Right you need a small flat head screwdriver, it's tricky, you need to pull the dual so it turns on the rear demister and you'll notice a small hole you need to get the screwdriver in there and effectively prise the unit out, as the whole dial is one whole unit
Many regards
