    help grinding noise

i have just put in a 20 seh into my mk3 sleeper and i expected teething troubles. Lo and behold ive got the worse grinding noise i have ever heard coming from the front wheels its really really bad when i steer and also pretty bad when i come to a stop ie traffic lights etc. Does anyone have any suggestions what it could be. i thought it may be bearings done up too tight as looked around and could not see anything touching. It almost sounds like the wheels rubbing the arches to me but i cot loads of clearance

jack it up and see if there's top to bottom play in the wheels. check the ARB links are attached. Check you put oil back in the gearbox. Check the pulleys aren't fouling somewhere.

F20 takes 2.1 litres, I expect the other boxes'll be similar.
As for the grinding noise, first thing I'd be checking would be the front pads!

ABS sensor 'pin' against the ABS wheel? The sensor mount is only bolted on and can make the worst noise against the CV joint.
