Electric powered hydrolic power steering pump

Hi guys i removed my cavalier turbo's pulley powered power steering pump 2 years ago because of turbo upgrade sizes and intake hoses etc. i used a mechanichal steering rack by the time but i am bored especially while parking the car. I am thinking to use a electric powered steering pump to use with my hydrolic power steering rack. is there any one tried this before? i am thinking to use a astra G-mk4 one pump but is there be any problem if i only give it continious 12v ? will there be any problem if it works continious all drive time? and will there be cooling needs for the system? i am thinking to use the shortest pressure hose line i can apply without a cooler and work the pump directly with ignition voltage continiously. Any idea?

Citroen saxo one works, IIRC and is a separate pump you could bolt anywhere. Jamie F had one on his MK2 gte

I have an astra G electric one in my mk2 cav. It needs a connection to the battery via an 80amp maxifuse, an earth, an ignition live and a connection to the alternator charge signal (the blue/white wire)
It only runs when the engine is running and the alternator is charging just as it would in an astra G. I have the green fluid in it and the rack doesn't seem to mind it.

Nice matey do you use a cooler for that setup? how is your steering now? is it like the original hydros?

No cooler on it. It's maybe slightly heavier than the standard setup but I do have a smaller steering wheel on it so it could just be that.
