incar lighter

i had to install a incar cig lighter after my car didnt have one and i needed one for my phone charger and satnav, probs is it charges the cig lighter but wont charge my satnav or phone, its got 17amp wire with a 20w inline fuse. but it does work if i press in the cig lighter.

could the wires be the wrong way round on the back or do they go anyway round?

yes thats a good idea. but try to be sure before changing.
