    Astra MK3 Wishbones bolts

I need help about the front wishbones bolts dimensions

I have loose mine some at the time of car rebuilding ... :-(

    EPC says

    FRONT BOLTS (horizontal bushes)

    No 13 M12 x 90 Hex Bolt = 11 091 643

It seems correct ... the hole of the bushes sleeve is a little more that 12 mm

    REAR BOLTS (vertical bushes)

    No 14 M12 x 90 Hex Bolt = 11 092 273

It does not seem correct cause the hole of the metal sleeve is about 16 mm
and the two additional sleeves reduce it to about 15 mm more or less

I think a 12 mm bolt will play too much ...

I vaguely remember both my front and rear bolts being very similar when I did the wishbones on my MK3.

In fact, I ordered some new ones from Vaux, took the old ones on one side out very carefully so I could match them up, put the new ones in and went to do the other side only to find the two were in the other way round from the wishbone I'd just done lol.

I think one bolt has a slightly pointier tip than the other - the sleeves were fairly nice and tight on mine up to the bolt - certainly not loose enough for the bolt to rattle around.

I suppose that the vertical bush is fixed to the chassis in position by the sleeves??

But i cannot understand the reason why ...

From what I remember when I replaced my wishbones (1995 Mk3), the two bolts were 12mm diameter (of similar lengths), but the vertical and horizontal bolts had a different thread pitch, hence the different EPC part numbers. They are not interchangeable. The bolts were a snug fit in the (single) tubular shims, one per bush. I cannot explain why you need to use two shims per bush.
