    Clunky steering...

I noticed that when I turn the steering wheel left and right the steering sounds "clunky" and the steering feels a bit loose.

When I got my car back from the garage today the clunking was louder.

After reading on here earlier it may the bolts on the joints need tightening I tried the one by the pedals and the one slightly higher behind the dash but they were nice and tight.

When I put my hand under to try and identify what was loose you could wobble the column from side to side.

In the picture below, if you hold the column to the right of the knuckle you can feel/see it move from side to side where it goes through the bigger silver giude to the right.

Is this normal? As you wobble it by hand you can hear it clunk.

Also if you lower the adjustable steering you can hear it less than when it is higher up. Due to being a big gangly creature I usually have the steering higher so as not to catch my knees, otherwise it's potentially an easy fix!! lol

So what is there further into the column that could be causing this??

You can pick up the column off of eBay easy enough from the looks of things. Just wondering how much of a pain in the arse it is to swap?!
