    Can I remove this part (Cav/Cali 4x4)

I'm using a Calibra 4x4 rear 5-stud setup on my FWD Calibra. So I've removed the diff and shafts as they aren't needed. Now on the rear of the hubs there is a dished piece of metal, with a large nut in the middle. This is what the rear shafts bolted to.

Can it be removed? Or does it support/tension the wheel bearing?

cant remove that mate, the 2wd ones normally came with a plastic cap , the flanges hold it all together

Thought so pal. I'll stick the cap on it from my 2WD 4-stud setup! Cheers

the rear bearings more like front wheel bearings than the normal rear type, with a hub nut and washer, and the washer just happens to have the driveshaft bolt holes in them too, thats why the 2wd ones have the flange too.
