corsa b how do i remove the speedo clear plastic cover

how do i remove the clear plastic which covers the speedo to fit chrome rings, i removed the cover via the 4 clips but the larger rings wont fit from behind i need to remove the front clear plastic cover but it seems bonded and brittle, any easy way of removing it

done it you have to be very careful and slowly brak the plastic welds best to use a blade, been told warming the plastic with a hair dryer helps
