20seh starter wiring

ok so im having a few problems with my starter, i have the big power going to the big connector and the small wire to the solenoid

does the starter have an earth cable or does it earth through its mount bolts?

earth thru mounting bolts.

Whats the problem ?

No noise? Does it click ?

yeah it clicks, i removed it from the car and tested it with some jump leads and its fine

i put it back in the car and it just clicks lol, it does work on a rare occasion but then back to just clicking
