    Talking HID problem

    other week one of my lights stoped working there running of a ballast so i got a new one fitted it and still no change! it it seams to be getting no power and it does a lil flicky thing then goes of and stays off! not sure what it is and its realy getting on my tits!

    any help would be amazing

    It's probably the lamp, test the input of the ballast for 12v, don't test the output or you'll pop your meter or is it the ballast you changed ?

    The ballasts make a high pitched noise when igniting the lamps

    No no noice from ballast at all like the other one and I thort it would be the bulb but if it was ****ed it wouldnt flicker would it?

    Take the bulb off the working one and plug it in to the non working one, simples

    This sounds like a faulty electrode/bulb

    They can flicker yes, same principal as a street light really

    how do you find out what bulb it is like 8000 or 6000 etc?

    should be able to tell from the color, 6k is pure white then after that get more and more yellow, 8k will have a blue tinge to it
