    when doing engine conversion electrics....

When people put vauxhall engines in non-vauxhall cars how do they go about this on the engines like the z20let?

With in the engine loom I presume so long as the ecu has power and you can access the starter motor is that the general idea?

For example If I put a z20let into for arguments sake a mini? Would I only need the engine loom up to the ecu and providing it got power and had a fuel pump ect. If I made my own wires to the ignition for the immobiliser would that work? Or do you need the "full loom"

    pretty simple really.
get as much of the Astra/zafira as possible and put it all in there.
you could make your own loom, the wiring diagrams are avaliable on here, just use the search.

I would think you would only need the engine loom and ecu mate if it was a c20let engine

z20let I'm sure you will need the key and transponder as a minimum

ZLET has fly by wire throttle as well

Sounds like a nightmare to me trying to get the speedo to work, if you use an Astra clocks then getting things like fuel level sender to work might be tricky.

The other option is keep the full mini loom then run Z20LET on aftermarket ecu with a cable throttle

nemesis you can use the cable if you change the manifold correct? with out changing ecu's ect ect

I dont want to do this conversion I was just trying to get a rough idea of how much wiring was involved, Dewismotorsport I know about the chip and transponder bit also I just wanted to know really is it possible to have the minimum stuff instead of using the whole entire in-car loom, I've messed about with a full harness before and find it a mind blower trying to get my head around so many wires lol
