The red F means fault. (maybe in input is not connected? Is there a function not working?)
It is possible for it to display a code (by grounding an input) if it isn't obvious what the problem is. Probably your Fuel problem.
Do you have a trip computer clock?

The 6 orange lights can be turned off by connecting and ground some inputs on the blue connector.

No the buttons can't be used for programming

    More information this evening.

I dont have a trip computer ,but only have connector(yellow,26 pins)...i connected blue-black wire from calibra(fuel gauge) to white lcd connector wire (black-blue which is for fuel indicator),but i have read that no matter i have a trip computer or not i must connect pin 8 from yellow connector to LCD to display litres...but i dont know how to connect it...do i have to cut wire from pin 8(yellow connector) and connect it to lcd wire(black-blue)? if not how can i do that to display the fuel....

    My info http://www.akirwan.freeserve.co.uk/akhow2/cavdig.rtf

You won't have a wire at pin 8 yellow though. I'm not sure what your fuel problem is

To turn the 6 orange lights off connect the blue plug up as follows:

It needs +12v from fuse 7 to help turn the brake light off. (as well as pin 11 connecting to the brake pedal switch)

Does your calibra have a row of these 6 lights ? If not pins 2,4,7,8 will need connecting to earth to turn the lights off.

    2 Yellow/Red Brake Pad Wear
    3
    4 Brown/Yellow Washer Fluid level
    5
    6 White/Green (Black/White) Tail/Dip Bulb Fail
    7 Brown/Blue Coolant level
    8 Brown/Green Oil level
    9
    10 Black/Yellow (Black/Grey) Brake Bulb Fail
    11 Black/Yellow Brake Lamp Switch

so for the fuel i have to connect black-blue(white connector from lcd) to black-blue from my calibra installation? i have done that but fuel is not displayed on lcd tacho...

as for the blue connector on the lcd i dont have that extra options on my calibra so i will ground that wires to turn of the lights...
