    c20xe 2.8 motronic

i have a problem with my later coilpack xe engine,

    idols fluctuate between 800-1200rpm,
    overfueling,
hits about 5k and its like boostcut, nearly chucks me threw the windscreen but obviously it doesnt have a turbo.

ecu light sead it was the hall effect switch, but it doesnt have one???
so i changed the cam sensor, checked the end of the cam to make sure the the contact was still on it, lambda sensor and checked the wiring to the cam shaft sensor.

any ideas what it could be???

Clean ICV and swap spark plugs and leads is the first that comes to my mind... The overfuelling can be a side effect of poor ignition....

The cam sensor is a Hall effect sensor, just like the crankshaft position sensor and even the speed transducer uses Hall sensors.

if this problem are more whemn the engine gets warm buy a new coolant temperature sensor. It's the blue sensor near the thermostat. It's cheap and probably this is the fault of your engine. Check also the ground cables near the injectors and the intake.

Also if it is difficult to start up the engine, maybe you must try another crankshaft sensor, and icv valve.
The last scenario in my mind is a foult air flow meter, but give a try to the other things I said first.

Also suspect is the fuel pump relay, there are two contacts in there, the first one arranges the live to the injectors and MAF sensor and ECU, the second goes to the pump. These are notorious for failure!

Hall affect switch is on the end of the exhaust cam', I thought.
