wiring warning lights up on digi dash

the digi dash itself works but the warning lights do not

are all the warning lights powered by the individual live wires from the car

example connect the brown dash wire to earth then connect say the wire for high beam warning light to live the light should come on right? even though the rest of the dash isnt wired up

if i cant get round the problem could i install leds into the dash housing wire them all to the same earth an wire their lives to each warning light wire coming from the car ? instead of using the dash plug

Correct. The warning lights use the black plug. Make sure the bulbs are fitted.

Some bulbs are active ground (like handbrake), so need need the black wire connecting to + and the signal wire grounding.

not all the warning lights run off the black plug though some are shared with the white plug
thing is i ve changed my dash so all the warning lights are now on the right hand side instead of scattered around inbetween some that arent used

are the warning lights found on the right of dash all active ground? that would make sense why they wouldnt work earlier

If I remember rightly, all the warning lights for the bottom row of the dash are on the black plug while the warning light for the oil pressure and alternator is on the white plug.

Tell me what the functions of the old lights are then, that you have reused.

Things like ABS, choke, brake fluid, handbrake, ecu light are active ground.

Indicators and main beam are active high.

i removed the strip with the different warning symbols on from the bottom of the dash,
cut it an put all the symbols that i need on the right of the dash so for example if a blue wire on the black plug powerd a warning light the bulb is still there but the symbol may now be different
my car has no ecu abs etc so i only need the basic warning lights

You need to find out what the old symbols on the right of the dash used to be. And then what the new symbol is.

I can then tell you how much you have buggered it up, but I guess you have an idea by how many lights are working correctly.

main beam warning ( high active) white wire
side an headlight warning? green /grey wire active high (so the other end of the bulb is connected to earth brown)

The rest goto the white connector so I assume you havn't messed with them ?
battery warning blue/whire wire active low
oil warning blue green wire active low

brake fluid warning light brown/red or brown/white active low
