Coupe Fuse 20 (windows) keeps blowing

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on my problem please?,, Fuse 20 keeps blowing everytime i try to fit a fuse. This fuse has blown clean out my hand several times now which is too dodgy for me to attempt again.

Recently my passenger window stopped working, i then removed the motor unit (what a pain) and fixed it up a....well it got the magic chap chap and started working again..or so i thought.

I found that during the night the window wld go down itself and back up!... i only noticed because i live in Scotland and i was finding my passenger seat wet every morning but the window was up!!!

I came home early one morning after a night out to find it down..I spoke to my dad and we decided to set the window at a sufficent height to get a decent seal but allow the door to open(coupe)then remove the fuse. I never got round to this and came back from working away to find both windows not working tho the switch light works. I assumed my dad removed the fuse but this wasnt the case.

Fuse 20 has blown clean out on its own and i now cant fit one... sorry for the long winded post but just trying to give all info... and the windows worked for weeks after i ahem fixed the passenger motor prior to this problem.

Im assuming theres a short somwhere but any help narrowing down wld be appreciated.

Strip the passenger door down again

Unplug motor

See if you can now fit a fuse

If not, start to chec wiring. No magic fix i'm sorry to say.

You were correct mate I tried that first anyway and found the connector soaking aswell...disconnected,dried,WD'd and taped it up... Fuse goes in and im still here with one working drivers window at least.

That will do for now gives me an excuse to use my other brief anyway cheers bud.
