C25 XE into MK2 GTE Electrical issues

Engine all in and plumbed up yesterday. went to turn it over and the after market immobiliser had killed itself.

Spent this morning cutting it out.

Then attempted to wire it up after alot of people have told me its easy. Just put ECU to live (red wire ring conector on it ) negative (black wire ring connector) IGN Live solid black wire. Then fuel pump (red / blue) on mine its wired under passanger door sill protector this was best option as thats where it had been cut for alarm..

No spark or pump C25 was running before it was taken out and so was the old 8v. any help appreciated

Any one any help please!! Iv googled it for last few hours but just cant find a how 2 ill do one when iv worked it out lol

MK2CAV.COM - Home of the MK2 Cavalier - HOW TO: XE wiring

That covers the connections needed to get a c25 running

Done all that mate and no luck. No power coming from ECU to pump etc no spark either

Thats all there is to wiring it. Try another fuel pump relay for starters.
How are you checking the power at the ecu?

Yeah HE is immobilised, the ecu should still get power though but the eml will flash constantly.

You need either a matching HE ecu key and transponder or a PN ecu

I didn't think a GTE ecu would fit the 25XE plug?

Re: C25 XE into MK2 GTE Electrical issues

Having a VECTRA x25xe would make me think it won't fit cos nothing apart from vectras had my type of ecu whereas the omegas cavs and calibras shared the same plug pattern

Mate genuinly im that confused its not true.
Googerling as much as i can the Cover says ECO TEC (black top ) where as the pre 1995 ones are red tops (non immobilised) just cant work out if its classed as a X25XE or a C25 XE

Re: C25 XE into MK2 GTE Electrical issues

The plastic cover makes no difference at all nor does it saying ecotec on it. If its originally out of a calibra it will be a c25xe.

    Does it look like this?

HE ecu is immobilised and needs the key and transponder to work
PN ecu is non immobilised (you can just plug a PN into the later loom)

Is the transponder not matched to the ECU, I would assume you need chip, transponder and ECU
