    help using feeler gauge

i need to reduce a plug gap to 0.80mm
none of the blades on my feeler gauge have specfic measurement on them

each blade has two numbers onit i assume the top number is metric

the blades i plan use to make 0.80mm look like this

    022
    559
    mm

    028
    711
    mm

    030
    762
    mm

if the top numbers are metric then is that the correct measurement

i tried to convert 0.80mm on google an the figure it gave didnt add up to the lower number on the gauges

.8 mm is 31 and a half thou, on your figures the second number will be the metric figure, i would imagine the imperial measurement would be printed as 032 for 32 thou

a touch extreme when he has the feeler gauges there perhaps, but a nice tool for adjusting too i guess

Just use more than one, stacked up to give the correct amount.

yeah, just use a 015 and an 017 to make 32 thou, or tbh, use the 030 and live with a spark plug gap that is 2 thou/.05mm too small, half a tenth of a mm really won’t affect anything

He's already changing the gap from 1.1mm to .8mm as a bit of an experiment on a Daewoo engine, so see how you get on.
