C20LET not starting, could this be the problem, look at image

This is the central locking relay according to the part number, but the fuel pump is wired through it and whatever else is, would this stop it working as I've fitted a new relay but the pump still doesn't run and it still won't start.

Has anyone had this cause a problem with starting the car in a conversion or not and my alarm is a clifford 650 cat1 with immobiliser cat2 which disables when the fob is used to unlock the car

that is the alarm. I think it is only the pump this is wired through it. I would think it will only be causing a problem if the hazzards are going.

Check to see if only one of the thick red/blue has +12v on it when cranking.

I have a Mk3 LET with that same alarm box fitted and I'm sure if I unplug it the car still starts and runs ok, the alarm just doesnt work.

However, if you have an aftermarket alarm, they might have wired it through this.

Ok that's good news, all I'll do it cut the 2 red/blue thick ones and join them together then ditch the box as I don't need it, it now all points to ECU failure as there is power everywhere but no spark or fuel pump

If you have no spark and no fuel pump then I suggest it's the crank shaft sensor at fault. Either buy a new one or fit a known good working replacement. If the crank shaft sensor is faulty the Motronic ECU will not allow fuel or spark as a fail safe measure as it doesn't know where TDC (Top Dead Center) is.

Looked at crank sensor and all of the outer sheathing near the sensor doesn't exist so i'd say its NFG, new sensor here tomorrow, so hopefully after all of this crap it will start, just have to put the whole thing back together

Well well well, crank sensor it was indeed, got it to run for 3 seconds roughly but the battery went flat due to so much cranking and starter was getting warm, top end was chattery but the engine hasn't run for 2 years so just to hear it spark into life was good, thing is now it has run it squeaks when it turns over, is that normal or is just a lack of oil and a rebuilt bottom end as it doesn't turn over any slower than normal ????

Glad to of been of assistance

If it's not run to two years I presume you changed the oil and filter before trying to start it as I would of. If not do so and get is up to temp then see if it still makes weird noises as it shouldn't.

Yep all new, new oil pump, filter and oil, pump is def working as before it was fixed down oil was coming out of turbo oil feed pipe when turning over so pressure must be there, perhaps it just needs to run for longer to get round the top and the rest ??
